Joseph Max "Joe" Berinson (born 7 January 1932) is a former Labor member of the Australian House of Representatives from the 1969 election until his defeat by Ross McLean at the 1975 election, representing the division of Perth, Western Australia. He was Minister for the Environment from 14 July 1975 until the dismissal of the Whitlam government on 11 November 1975.
After Berinson's defeat in 1975, he was admitted as a legal practitioner in 1977. He was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council in 1980, serving as Attorney-General in the Burke and Dowding governments between 1983 and 1993. He was appointed as a Queen's Counsel in 1988.[1]
Berinson retired from the ministry and from the Legislative Council in 1993.[2] He subsequently served as President of the Jewish Community Council of Western Australia between 2001 and 2005.
